The Internet jokes that Tommy DeVito's agent Sean Stellato, looks like the Notre Dame mascot. Did everyone forget leprechauns are greedy? He's just doing what leprechauns do best... trying to bulk up his pot of gold, while Tommy DeVito is the rainbow. 🌈
While trying to get that gold, Sellato landed himself and DeVito in hot water with a local New Jersey Pizzeria. DeVito was set to appear at Coniglio's Old Fashioned pizzeria to sign autographs.
On Monday, Coniglio's announced DeVito would no longer be appearing at the restaurant for autograph signing. Conglio's claims DeVito's agent Stellato, doubled the appearance fee from $10,000 to $20,000 after the New York Giants win against the Packers MNF game. The price increase was too significant for the pizzeria. The event was canceled since they could no longer afford to host DeVito.
NO @TOMMYDEVITO WILL NOT BE @CONIGLIOS THIS TUESDAY AS ORIGINALLY PLANNED. AFTER LAST WEEK’S WIN WE RECEIVED WORD FROM HIS AGENT THAT HIS APPEARANCE FEE WOULD BE DOUBLING (WENT FROM 10K TO 20); WE ARE A SMALL FAMILY RUN BUSINESS & DECIDED $20,000 WAS A BIT STEEP FOR 2 HOURS APOLOGIES TO ANYONE WHO HAD ALREADY PURCHASED A TICKET
Stellato disputed the allegations of the price increase by telling The Action Network's Darren Rovell, there wasn't a formal agreement between the two parties.
To prove the agreement, Nino Coniglio, owner of the pizzeria, sent Rovell a screenshot of the conversation with Stellato. The screenshot appears to reflect the agreement of DeVito's visit for $10k.
Good Guy Triumphs Over Greedy
The story doesn't end there. Out of the goodness of his heart, Tommy DeVito rectifies the situation by showing up at Coniglio's for the scheduled appearance, for FREE. DeVito may have visited Coniglios as a child since he grew up in Livingston, NJ, only 25 minutes from the pizzeria.
To make further amends, DeVito brought his new marketing team to share a meal of pizzas, chicken parmigiana, and mixed sodas from an antique mixer. According to Paul Schwartz of the New York Post, DeVito let go of Stellato and hired marketing agent Maxx Lepselter. Looks like Sean 'The Leprechaun' Stellato lost his pot of gold and must find a new rainbow to follow.
